I think the most significant cause of the holocaust was how Hitler manipulated the Germans into doing anything that he could get them to do. He convinced him to hate the Jews as much as he did, and he was successful with killing off a good portion of them. Granted all of the Germans hatred toward the Jews did not come from all of Hitlers feelings, they had their own hatred toward them already and blamed them for causing disasters that should not have been blamed on them in the first place. Things like the bubonic plague were blamed on the Jews and the spread of the black plague.
I believe that the most significant cause of the Holocaust was antisemitism. This was the hatred and discrimination towards the Jews. Hitler made people believe that the Jews were terrible people and that they were going to try and take over the world. People became afraid of the Jews because of their lack of knowledge. They were going to believe whatever Hitler told them. People started to become prejudice towards the Jews and started discriminating them. They stereotyped and scapegoated all the Jews, not because of their race, but for just being Jewish. The Jews weren't allowed to have any right and were segregated from the rest of the population. They were put into terrible living conditions, places like ghettos.nick rackley
Charlotte BrelandI believe that the most significant cause to the holocaust would be the misunderstanding and assumptions. There were many rumors that the Jews were evil, and they caused all the problems, and more. This caused many to misunderstand the Jews. Then the people followed the assumptions of others and that led to spirals of worse and worse things. Another major cause was the fear. All of the people feared the Nazis and the German Soldiers. This caused many of the people to now speak out or defend the Jews. The hatred and pure evil the soldiers showed was enough of a threat that nobody would speak up or do anything to change it. Those are the most significant causes to the holocaust.
I don't think that there was ONE cause that lead to the Holocaust. Starting with Antisemitism Hitler influence many people to believe that the Jewish were to blame for the loss of WW1, the plague, and many other negative events. The Jewish people were blamed and used as scapegoats to give an explanation to these issues that were happening. Hitler and his followers had such an impact on the surrounding society members. They created fear and forced people into either supporting the ghettos and segregation of the Jews or killed the ones who disagreed. The Holocaust was such a drastic and tragic event that took place in history. There is no way that ONE person caused billions of people to be killed. Fear, discrimination, propaganda, and force were all causes that lead to the mass killings of many Innocent people.
There was a lot of problems that caused the Holocaust; though, at the root of all these problems was one common feeling: Fear. People feared the Jewish people because they were thought to be a superior race and people didn't want them to take over or anything like that. Fear and the ignorance of people led to prejudice which in turn led to antisemitism. Antisemitism is the discrimination and hatred against Jews. This was caused because of fear and because of this Jews were moved to Ghettos and treated very poorly. Hitler was a very manipulative man but couldn't have done what he did on his own, because of the help with propaganda from Geobbles and brute for of the Nazi party people believed what ever he told them. It was easy for them to believe because they already feared the Jews. When Antisemitism turned into discrimination which turned into genocide people didn't really ask questions because of the fear they already had. Fear started it all and that's why I think fear was on of the main causes of the Holocaust.
I believe that the main cause for the holocaust was need for a common enemy. Hitler wanted power and he needed a common enemy for his country so that he could lead them. He made it seem as if the jews were the reason for their economic problems post WW1 and this allowed for the country to have a common enemy to unite against. Hitler also scapegoated the jews by blaming them for the German surrender in WW1. Hitler could unite his men under Jew hatred and use that to lead the country.
I would have to say that the most significant cause of the holocaust would have to be an accumulation of animosity and disdain that had been engraved into a culture. This array of stereo types and a sense of German nationalism was exploited as a tool by Hitler. Hitler, much like the pigs of Animal Farm, had such a strong propaganda campaign and an enclosed societal structure that made it easy for him to exploit the Jews as a scapegoat and rally issue.
I think that there are many causes of the holocaust. The main reason for the holocaust was that Hitler wanted complete power and he chose the Jewish race to take it out on. He liked the Aryan race and thought it was the most complete. He wanted all of Germany to turn to that, so how did it was turning everyone who wasn't Jewish to the Aryan race. That;s the main cause of the holocaust. Chris Ibach
